Welcome to SaaS Public Relations
Welcome to SaaS Public Relations by me, Matias Rodsevich. I’m an experienced consultant specialising in PR for tech companies.
Do you ever feel like you’re speaking a different language than the people you’re trying to reach?
You’ve built something that solves a real problem. The product is solid, the team is in place, the roadmap looks absolutely ambitious. But, when it comes to getting attention (whether it’s from press, investors, partners, or even potential users), it feels like there’s a disconnect…
I’ve seen this story play out more times than I can count. In fact, I’ve lived it. First, as a founder trying to get my own message heard, and later as someone helping others do the same. I’m Matias Rodsevich, CEO and founder of PRLab, a global tech PR agency I built from scratch to help tech companies turn what they do into stories people actually want to hear about.
Over the past 12+ years, I’ve worked with more than 100 startups and scaleups around the world, helping them bridge this exact gap–the one between building a great product and getting the right people to notice it.
That’s why I started this Substack. I wanted to create a space where I could share what I’ve learned (and I’m always learning something new) about how PR really works in the SaaS world.
Sometimes the story isn’t the feature you just launched, but the problem it solves better than anyone else.
Sometimes getting a journalist to care isn’t about spiraling them into an information overload. It’s about understanding what they’re trying to say to their readers, and how your story fits into that bigger picture. *Spoiler alert: they’re getting dozens of “new groundbreaking feature” pitches every day. Yours need a reason to matter now.*
Sometimes, your numbers aren’t telling the story you think they are. You might be looking at them through a product or growth lens. But what if you looked at them through PR-colored glasses? There’s often a narrative hiding in plain sight.
These are the kinds of questions and thoughts I’ll explore here. Expect real SaaS PR examples, lessons learned the hard way, and the occasional reality check from the media Gods.
So if you’ve ever felt like your story deserves more attention, but you’re not quite sure how to tell it, who to tell it to, or whether it’s even the right story, do stick around. I’ll be dropping something new in your inbox every month, and with any luck, it’ll spark a few nods, a couple of frowns, and maybe even a “why didn’t I think of it like that?”
